The Great Indian Elections 2019!

Shri Ganesha! 😃

Its election time in India and I am back. I just couldn't resist myself from returning back to blogging. I have decided that i would write extensively and cover the elections as much as I can. Lets see how it goes.

Mr. Modi vs Mahagathbandhan (Mahamilawat as Modi fondly calls it)

Will Modi come back again? Will he get complete majority on his own? How will UP vote this time?
Will BJP make inroads into West Bengal?

I guess we will need to wait till 23rd May.

Arvind Kejriwal's Problem with Surgical Strike on Black Money

Not sure what is Arvind Kejriwal 's real problem ?
Is it because he feels his agenda has been hijacked or opposing for the sake of opposing. While its too early to claim success for the move, but no one knows how much black and fake money was in use. so we need to experiment.

As someone has said, if he is told that 'MODI' invented Oxygen, Arvind Kejriwal would even go to the extent of proving How poisonous is inhaling the Oxygen.

Sir you say.

1. Modi had disclosed the demonetization some 6 months ago to his near and dear ones. You are wrong by 2 years. He had publicized his intents about banning 1000 rupee notes in 2013 itself before he became the prime Minister.
2. Last few months, you have seen huge deposits being made in the banks. Shall I laugh or cry? But why would anyone deposit (if you are to be believe) the black money in the banks. And even if anyone does that Modi precisely wants the same. Money should be accounted for.
3. and last point, significant inconvenience caused. to whom? you? Yes I agree all black money hoarders are facing lot of trouble.

But sir , How about the inconvenience caused by you to Delhites during your unwarranted Dharanas
and protests?

Sir again, many of us are used to. We have stood in queue since Independence for..
"Ration, Kerosene, Doctor appointments, Court appointments, School admissions, College admissions, Train reservations, Bus passes and Ticket, LPG connection, for paying electricity bills, Water bills, Municipality tax, Income Tax, Passport offices, Birth certificates, Death certificates, Airports and the most famous Darshans queues at Religious places.
I have been talking with my family, friends and relatives. And let me tell you, none of them have expressed any sort of inconvenience as being projected by few.
Few of my Aunts, even my mother doesn't have a bank account. But they all are fine. The Kirana Grocer in the area is giving grocery on credit. In villages, rural areas or even in cities the system of 'UDHARI' is still widely used. And if are talking about bigger retail stores, Credit Cards or Debit Cards are widely used.
Banks are accepting cheques and paying money. Doctors, Govt Hospitals, State Transports are accepting old currency.

Sirjee, please explain what is your real problem? Are you short cash for upcoming Goa and Punjab elections?

My Request to Uddhav Thakaray

Hardly less than 48 hours left to see the king of Maharashtra. I am born and brought up in Maharashtra and do not remember any government without coalition.

Will BJP form its government on its own? Will Shivsena be the second largest party? Will Shivsena join hands with BJP or be in opposition? So many questions. I guess we will have to wait for 19th October.

But whatever happened before these parties went to polls should have been avoided. BJP and Shivsena should have fought together was the expectation of millions in Maharashtra like me. Many were confused as to whom to support as both parties were inseparable for us. We hadn’t seen two parties having same ideologies fighting against each other. There is still a fear as to what will happen on 19th? Will the votes get divided?

No doubt, Shivsena was the caretaker for the middle class Maharashtrians, Mumbaikars etc. It has served Maharashtrians. But I have few complaints. The party didn’t change with the changing times. Post Bal Thakaray's demise, the party has kind of lost its sheen.

BJP was a younger brother in state and Shivsena expected BJP to play the same role in Maharashtra. But that was a mistake on Shivsena’s part. In democracy, every individual, party has the right to expand and be ambitious. No one is friend and no one is a foe. Moreover BJP’s track record was always impressive compared to Shivsena. And on top of it, they had a national hero as their face. So it would have been foolish on BJP’s part if they would have not leveraged on the same.

So we all agreed to disagree with the stand taken by both parties to contest separately and test waters.

But then the stand taken to attack BJP for breaking alliance and holding them responsible for the same is wrong. We all saw what happened till 26th Sep and why the alliance broke. You wanted to contest 151 and BJP wanted 135 seats and seats for smaller partners. You didn’t agree, BJP didn’t agree. Okay, fine. But where is the question of backstabbing?

We all respect Shivaji. But why repeated references to Shivaji, Afzal khan et. I feel these are all unwanted in today’s world. Times have changed now. And precisely this is the reason we are still where we are and others (countries as China, Japan and Korea) have progressed. We have lost significant time and we need to move fast forward. This was an opty for Mr. Uddhav Thakaray to prove yourself. Rather you chose a wrong path. Instead of attacking the (mis)rulers, you chose to attack BJP who had nothing to do with the current state and affairs of Maharashtra.

Time is still not lost Mr. Uddhav Thakaray. BJP has been telling that Shivsena is not a political opponent. So don’t stick to your stand of ‘Moden pan wakanar Nahee’. Sometimes it helps to be flexible. So in the larger interest of the state and larger interest of the party, please forget what had happened in last 2 month. Mend ways with BJP. We want BJP and Shivsena to be seen as one single force.

D-Day Tomorrow

After a real long wait, the D-Day has finally arrived. Just in less than 24 hours, it will be crystal clear if NAMO becomes the Prime minister of India or will be confined to his Chief Minister Chair in Gujrat.

I am following Modi for last 6 months and like me there are many. The hopes are high and so do  the expectations.

So many questions?

Will he or wont he? will he cross 272 mark? Pessimist thought on other hand tells what if its only 150. (2004, 2009 exit polls proved inaccurate)

Tremendous anxiety and sort of nervousness. Time will only tell and I need to wait for another 24 hours.

World Cup 2011 - India ???

Before I hurt anyone's sentiments, let me clarify that I am as patriotic as you all are and I also seriously want India to win the world cup 2011. But...

I am bit practical here and not sounding emotional or pessimist. In my opinion, India can't win the world cup. Those who saw yesterday's England - India match will support me.

We are watching not only India, but other cricketing teams and their performance for past few months.

England what an Unit!!! England seems to be the most transformed teams in recent times. Australia still looks very balanced and can pose threat to any team on any given day. The chokers Soth African's are as competetive as ever.

South Africa, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka all sound very balanced and charged up teams.

While Indian Batting has improved a lot over last few years, so is the case with other teams as well.

We made 338 with 9 wickets, England could do it with 8 wickets.Bangladesh, the 8th raking team, almost came close to making 300 runs against us.

We indians are too dependent on our in consistent, out of form, blind hitters and (re)tired playes like Yuvaraj, Sehwag, Yusuf and Sachin in that order. When you have 9 such players in the team out of 11, with even 50% probabiliy the odds are that 4 of them will fire and you can easily cruise beyond 280 - 320.

But how about defending the same. Looks like Mr. Cool Dhoni seems to have forgotten the basic fact that the score needs to be defended as well.

As far as the bowling is concerned, we are the most pathetic lot.

Netherlands, the 12th ranked team made the Brits to weat to get the 292 till 49th over.

Pakistan - restricted to 275+ by lankans, SriLanka can't make 270 odd against pakistan. Australia struggled to move past 270.

Mr Dhoni and company, you get paid 2 m USD in IPL for hard hitting and entertaining us. But not in world cup.

It's not too late still. Bring some basic discipline in the million dollar bowlers and fielders.

Else the dream chase will continue for another 4 years...

PM of the Nation ???

I quite often tell my project managers that PM is quite a powerful role. Don’t act like post masters. Add some value to the job and the role what you play.
As a captain of the ship you need to steer the ship, give directions. Ensure project is delivered in time, within budget keeping the customers satisfied.
If mistakes happen, always have a backup plan, take corrective measures. Quickly get into act, perform the root cause analysis and fix the problem.
I guess these are the principles taught to every Project Manager before he gets ready for the role and moves into the assignment.

But the very basic principle seems to be violated when it comes to the PM of my own nation.

Yesterday's Media Conference was very disappointing. Till date I had high regards for the PM's Chair. But he has made mockery of the role. The PM of the world's largest democracy can't be so lame.
1> PM doesn’t seem to be in a position to run the country effectively. He can’t work with his team.
2> IN last 2 years I have hardly seen any discussions about new projects, investments or execution strategy. Rather it's one scam after another.
3> There seems to be no accountability, no responsibility and no responsibility.

He is still covering up the wrong doings of the ministers? Why? He doesn’t want to take responsibility. Blaming others for what had happened. He is not fixing the problems and he doesn’t want to step down also.

And we all including me seem to be quite helpless looking at the state of the conuntry. If Egypt could overthrow the dictator who ruled for 30 years, why can't I make the difference?

My Predictions - Soccer 2010

The Soccer World cup has reached the penultimate stage. There are quite few shockers. Previous two champions knocked out at the group stage itself.

My favorites France, Italy are out. :-(

'Argentina' are my new favorites to win the world cup. Spain and Brazil are also strong teams.

This is how I feel matches will progress.

Anything can happen. Just keeping the fingers crossed.
